William Chase – Founder of Tyrrells crisps, Chase Distillery & Willy’s ACV
After 20 years of supplying supermarkets with potatoes from his family-run farm in Herefordshire, a eureka moment lead William to turn his potatoes into crisps. In 2002 the Tyrrells premium crisp brand was launched and within 6 years had reached a turnover of £14 million.
Inspired by a business trip in the USA, in 2008 William decided to try something new with his crop… to make a potato-based vodka! And so Chase Distillery was born, focussing on producing truly British, high-quality spirits and liqueurs. The Chase Original Potato Vodka has gone on to be awarded ‘World’s Best Tasting Vodka’ at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
The business has remained a family affair; with Will’s sons managing the 300 acre farm and acting as global ambassadors for the brand, educating customers and consumers about their field-to-bottle philosophy.
