Andres Schabelman is the VP of International Expansion at Fiverr, leading the efforts to ensure anyone in world can access the largest marketplace for freelance digital services. He was one of the first 30 employees at Airbnb, leading their global expansion efforts and opening up 12 different global markets in 11 different countries. He has a unique ability to operationalize complex organizations while simultaneously expanding company culture and values to different markets. Before Airbnb, Andres worked at Google helping build their US-Hispanic advertising business unit. He holds a Master in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School and focused his studies on grassroots organizing, which has influenced his community, consumer-focused growth approach to international expansion. Andres mentors/advises/invests in marketplace businesses, often within the sharing economy and travel industries. He also co-founded mealsharing.com, a platform to connect travelers and at-home cooks for social meals. Andres grew up in New Orleans with Argentine parents, loves live music, thinks he’s excellent at ping pong, goes to Burning Man every year, and would love to be a travel show host on tv when he grows up.
