Help to Save is a new digital savings account for working people on low incomes that offers a tax-free bonus of 50p for every £1 saved. The policy aim is to help promote financial resilience / wellbeing among working households on low incomes by building up a “rainy day” fund and incentivising people to become regular savers – this is an integral part of the Government’s wider commitment to support savers.
The scheme is available to individuals who are working and eligible for working tax credits or Universal Credit.
